Affiliate program terms

1. The program

The Kitobiz affiliate program rewards people and businesses who recommend Kitobiz. It supplements the terms of use and the privacy policy. You accept these terms by activating your link: in Kitobiz › Affiliate program if you are a client, or in your partner portal if you do not have a Kitobiz account. You do not need to be a Kitobiz client to become a partner.

2. The two components

• Referral (any registered business): the new business gets its first month free (one month out of twelve for an annual subscription). You receive a credit equal to one month of your plan, before taxes, once it has remained subscribed for 35 days. The credit applies to your next Kitobiz invoices; it is neither refundable nor redeemable for cash. No more than 12 credits per 12-month period.
• Affiliate partner (on application approved by Kitobiz, client or not): the new business gets a 15% discount for 3 months (the equivalent on an annual subscription). You receive 20% of the amount before taxes of each of its subscription payments during the 12 months that follow its first payment. Kitobiz may agree with you on another rate, another duration or another discount: these are then shown in your partner space and apply to businesses that sign up afterwards.
• Partner portal: a partner without a Kitobiz account follows their results in a portal opened by a personal link sent by email. This link is confidential; a new link replaces the previous one and can be requested at any time at kitobiz.com/en/partenaires.

3. Attribution

• A business is attributed to you when it creates its account with your link (the code is kept for 90 days in a cookie on its device) or enters your code at sign-up, or within the 30 days that follow, before its first payment.
• A business can be attributed to only one affiliate. The first code recorded prevails.
• You cannot refer yourself, whether through another account or through a person from your business.

4. Commissions and payouts

• Each commission is held for 60 days. A payment refunded, in whole or in part, reduces or cancels the corresponding commission.
• Approved commissions are paid by Interac e-Transfer to the address given in Affiliate program, as soon as the balance reaches $50. A smaller balance is carried forward.
• You are responsible for reporting this income. If you are registered for the GST and the QST, provide your numbers: the applicable taxes are then added to your commissions.

5. Promotion rules

• State clearly that you are rewarded for your recommendations (for example “affiliate link” or “I receive a reward”), in accordance with the Competition Bureau's guidelines on representations and testimonials.
• Do not send any commercial electronic message without the person's consent, in accordance with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation. Messages to your family and friends and to your existing business contacts remain permitted within the limits of that law.
• Do not run paid advertising on the name “Kitobiz” (search engine keywords), do not present yourself as Kitobiz and do not promise anything that Kitobiz does not offer.
• No false sign-ups, no fake reviews, no incentives to create accounts that will not be used.

6. Suspension and termination

Kitobiz may refuse a partner application, refuse a doubtful referral, suspend a link or end the participation of an affiliate who does not comply with these terms; the commissions related to a breach are then cancelled. You can stop participating at any time: commissions already approved remain owed to you.

7. Changes

Kitobiz may change the program or these terms with 30 days' notice, sent by email or in the application. Rewards already earned are not affected. These terms are governed by the laws of Québec and Canada.
